What Are Areas?

Koinonia AreaS

The cells are grouped together administratively as areas, providing effective ‘mini-churches’ to outwork the Koinonia Church vision. Growth in the number of cells results in the addition of other areas; the growth being sideways in nature so as to prevent a bottom-heavy structure, where a few leaders are frantically trying to serve hundreds of people! Recognizing the social characteristics of different age groups, there are adult areas, youth areas and a children’s area, each with their own area leadership couple. Leadership care and training is a key to the health and growth of any church. Therefore the area leaders have interns to serve them in their task. If “Community is the window through which the world sees Jesus”, then it is essential for each person to be a part of the building block of Koinonia church life – the cell.
